Nepal floods: People from more than 30 countries reported missing
Nepal reports 826 missing, including 517 foreigners, while China says 558 are missing in Tibet after a glacier collapse triggered flash floods
A day after a glacier collapse in Tibet triggered catastrophic flash flooding in a border area of China and Nepal, hundreds of foreign nationals remain among those reported missing, with authorities in both countries reporting more than 160 deaths and over 1,300 people missing as of Thursday.
Nepal-Police reported at least 165 dead and 826 missing. Nepal’s National Tourism Board said 517 foreigners were missing. Among the missing foreign nationals, 178 were from India, followed by 65 from the United States and 51 from Malaysia.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry said 53 Ukrainians were missing, including 46 tourists with whom Nepalese authorities had lost contact. The tourism board also reported 35 Australians, 33 Britons and 25 Canadians among the missing.
South Korean government officials said nine citizens working on a hydropower plant in Nepal were missing.

The Nepal tourism board said eight Singaporeans, eight Germans and eight Russians were missing. Six South Africans and six Latvians were also reported missing.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi expressed worry about five Japanese nationals whom local media reported were missing. Nepal's tourism board also said five New Zealanders and four French citizens were missing.
Three nationals each from Belgium and Spain were reported missing.
The board said two people each from Italy, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Ireland and the Netherlands were missing. Ten others — one each from Belarus, Finland, Hungary, Israel, Lithuania, the Philippines, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Serbia and Sweden — were also missing.
China's state media reported at least three people had died and 558 were missing in Gyirong County, Tibet. CCTV reported that 260 of those missing were foreigners. China's foreign ministry also said nearly 100 Chinese citizens were missing on the Nepal side.
The number of missing people may vary across agencies due to differences in data collection, reporting and verification, as well as gaps in coordination between those compiling the figures and rescue teams in the affected areas.
