Thalapathy 68, a sci-fi film?
Vijay's upcoming film directed by Venkat Prabhu has a sci-fi angle, reveal sources in the Tamil film industry. The Leo actor has done 67 films till date, but never tried science fiction. This will be a first for his upcoming yet-untitled film. It is pertinent to note that Vijay and Venkat Prabhu recently visited Los Angeles for the 3D scanning of the actor.
Also, the buzz in the industry is that Vijay will essay a dual role in the biggie!
Ajith Kumar shooting for Vidaamuyarchi
Actor Ajith Kumar never fails to disappoint when it comes to action sequences. Now, his most-anticipated
Vidaamuyarchi
is said to contain high-octane action sequences. And, the film team is currently in Azerbaijan shooting intense bike chase and car chase sequences. Sources say that the film's cinematographer Nirav Shah is using a lot of advanced camera equipment to shoot the racy stunt scenes.
Produced by Lyca Productions, writer-director Magizh Thirumeni is helming this magnum opus, which has Trisha Krishnan playing the female lead.
Vetrimaaran to begin Suriya's 'Vaadi Vasal' in 2024-end
Ace filmmkaer Vetrimaaran is currently busy shooting for the second part of his acclaimed Viduthalai starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi. The film was supposed to be released in January 2024 but now we hear the makers are pushing it to May, as the shoot hasn't been completed as yet.
Due to this unexpected delay, Vetrimaaran's ambitious Vaadi Vasal with Suriya is also getting delayed. Sources say the shoot of Vaadi Vasal, a period rural action drama, will commence only by the end of 2024.
Meanwhile, Suriya will start shooting for Sudha Kongara's film early next year. The two had earlier paired up for the superhit

Vikram pins hopes on 'Thangalaan'
Vikram is undeniably one of the finest actors in Indian cinema but leaving aside the Ponniyin Selvan series, the actor hasn't scored a solo hero hit in a long time. The National Award-winning actor feels that Thangalaan will be a big turning point in his career.
Penned by Pa.Ranjith, the story is said to be a hard-hitting one made on a grand scale. This has made Vikram confident of the film scoring big at the box-office. The entire team also feels that the film will do wonders both at the ticket window and at film festival circuits.
Thangalaan is set in the backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields.
Footage lost in Rajinikanth's 'Lal Salaam'?
The Federal learns that a good chunk of footage of superstar Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam also starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth has allegedly gone missing. Directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya, the film is scheduled to release for Pongal 2024. While a few say that the film will be postponed due to the uncertainty, the team is confident that the missing footage will be recovered soon and the release will go as planned.
Kamal Haasan confirms 'Indian 3'
In a recent event with his fans and party cadres, veteran actor Kamal Haasan confirmed that besides Indian 2, they can also expect chapter 3 of Indian in 2024.
Sources say that according to Indian 2 director Shankar, the footage shot so far demands a third part. He has requested another 30-40 days from Kamal Haasan for Indian 3. On seeing the rushes, Kamal also feels that the film has come out well and has given the nod for the required dates for the third part of the film.
'Captain Miller' is Dhanush's most expensive film
Captain Miller will be Dhanush's most expensive film, say sources close to the production house Sathya Jyothi Films. Touted to be a period-action thriller, Kannada actor Shivarajkumar plays Dhanush's elder brother in the biggie directed by Arun Matheshwaran of Rocky and Saani Kaayidham fame.
The total landing cost of the film is said to be around ₹100 crore, which is the highest-ever production cost for a Dhanush starrer.
