Now you can access OTT platforms through JioFibre; here are the details

Reliance Jio is upgrading its JioFiber postpaid plans with an “entertainment twist”, and giving the option to customers to not only access internet, but also subscribe to many OTT apps for a slightly higher premium.

One of the key attractions that Jio is offering is the free installation of the router as well as the “smart” set-up box, both of which Jio offers for free of cost.

Existing users, who currently don’t have a set-up box, can get it by requesting for it to the company, without any extra charge.

The new plans will come into effect from April 22, according to Jio.

There will be a total of six postpaid plans now, but the starting two are particularly interesting owing to their “entry-level” nature.

Jio is offering two separate tiers of entertainment top-ups with these two plans.

The first plan, which is called “Entertainment”, will bundle six popular OTT apps with unlimited internet (at up to 30 Mbps speed) for ₹100 more than the current charge of ₹399.

The second plan, called “Entertainment Plus”, will add eight more OTT apps to the ₹499 plan, for ₹200 more. One has to pay ₹599 if they pick the ₹399 plan.

Both the deals will be applied to the ₹699 package as well.

The full list of OTT apps includes Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, Sonyliv, Voot, Discovery+, Eros Now, Lionsgate, Sunnxt, Hoichoi, AltBalaji, ShemarooMe, Universal+, Voot Kids, and JioCinema.
