India has 45,903 new COVID cases; recovery rate keeps getting better
India reported 45,903 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total to 85,53,657, while the recovery rate has increased to over 92.5 per cent, the Union health ministry said on Monday.There were 490 new deaths, taking the total fatality from the infection to 1,26,611.

Of the total infected cases, 79,17,373 have recovered, taking the recovery rate to 92.56 per cent, the health ministry said, leaving with 5,09,673 active cases.

India’s count of active cases has been below 6 lakh for the 11th consecutive day.
Maharashtra continued to have the highest number of cases with 17,19,858 reported so far, of which 15,77,322 have recovered.
Maharashtra is followed by Karnataka with 8,46,887 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 8,42,967 cases. Tamil Nadu has 7,43,822 cases. Delhi has reported 4,38,529 infections so far.
Of the 490 deaths reported in a day till Monday morning, 125 were in Maharashtra, 77 in Delhi and 59 in West Bengal.
Again, of the 1,26,611 deaths in the country, 45,240 have been reported from Maharashtra, 11,391 from Karnataka, 11,344 from Tamil Nadu, and 7,294 from West Bengal. Uttar Pradesh has had 7,206 deaths, Delhi 6,989 and Andhra Pradesh 6,791.
According to the health ministry, over 70 per cent of the deaths were due to comorbidities.

There were 8,35,401 COVID tests conducted on Sunday, according to details given by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It said that as of November 8, the total number of tested samples stood at 11,85,72,192.
India touched 20 lakh cases on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. On September 16, its case count touched 50 lakh, which went up to 60 lakh on September 28 and 70 lakh on October 11. On October 29, India’s caseload crossed the 80-lakh mark.
