Medical officer arrested for taking bribe in Rajasthan's Jhalawar

A case has been registered against Sharma and further investigation in the matter is on. 

A medical officer in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 12,000, an Anti-Corruption Bureau spokesperson said.

The accused medical officer, Dr. Pradeep Sharma, who is posted at Harigarh Primary Healthcare Center in the district, had demanded the bribe from a male nurse for a transfer posting case.

Sanjay Mehar, the male nurse, lodged a complaint with the ACB, which was verified following which a trap was laid, the spokesperson said. The accused medical officer was arrested when he asked the complainant to leave the bribe amount at a place in his government residence, he added.

A case has been registered against Sharma and further investigation in the matter is on.
