The northern parts of Telangana are likely to experience heat wave conditions for three days beginning Saturday, Met officials said.

The temperatures are rising due to the winds blowing from the north westerly and northerly direction, a Met department official told.

The highest maximum temperature of 44.7 degrees celsius was recorded during the past 24 hours at Nizamabad, the weather office said in its report.

Ramagundam and Adilabad recorded the maximum temperature of 44 degrees during the past 24 hours while Hyderabad witnessed a maximum temperature of 41 degrees, it said.

In 2016, more than 300 heat wave-related deaths had been reported in the state.
