Bengaluru Crime Branch arrests dancer-actor, aide for peddling drugs

Shetty who rose to fame through reality show Dance India Dance has also acted in ABCD: Anybody Can Dance.

The Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru Police on Sunday (September 20) arrested two people including ‘Dance India Dance’ fame dancer-actor Kishore Aman Shetty on charges of using and peddling MDMA (popularly known as Ecstasy).

Police said Shetty’s identity was known only after the arrest. The other person is Aqueel Nousheel, 28,  who was riding with Shetty when police nabbed the duo in Mangaluru.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar told reporters that the duo used to procure drugs from Mumbai and Bengaluru and sell them to students in the city.

The two were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and a motorbike, two cellphones and ecstasy worth ₹1 lakh were seized from their possession.

Shetty who rose to fame through reality show Dance India Dance has also acted in ABCD: Anybody Can Dance.

The CCB has also arrested two foreign nationals allegedly involved in drug peddling and seized 134 Ecstasy pills and 25 LSD strips worth ₹10 lakh from them.
