Uttar Pradesh police have registered an FIR against five persons in connection to the death of a sanitation worker who was allegedly forced to drink a disinfectant that he accidentally sprayed on one of them.

The victim, Kunwar Pal, who had gone to spray disinfectant in Motipura village to sanitize the area in view of the coronavirus outbreak on April 14, mistakenly sprayed it on Indrapal’s foot.

Following this, Indrapal and four others allegedly forced the disinfectant machine’s pipe into Kunwar Pal’s mouth, making him swallow it.

The victim died on April 17 in Moradabad while undergoing treatment after being shifted from a hospital in Rampur due to his condition getting worse.

Even as an FIR was registered, no arrests have been made as yet.

The victim’s post-mortem report is awaited for further action to be taken.
