Security forces detected an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir’s on Monday (September 7) morning, according to police.
The IED was concealed in a sandbag on the Sopore-Kupwara road in the Drugmulla area, said a police officer. It was detected by a joint patrolling party of the forces, he said.
It was apparently planted by militants to target security personnel who frequently use the road, he said. A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot which destroyed it without causing any damage, the officer added.
