Second mohalla clinic doctor tests positive for COVID-19 in Delhi
A doctor at a Delhi mohalla (community) clinic has tested positive for COVID-19, from Babarpur in the northeast of the city.
Those who visited the clinic between March 12 and 20 have been asked to self-quarantine at homes for the next 15 days.
This the second case of a doctor at a mohalla clinic falling prey to the fast-spreading coronavirus. Earlier a doctor at a clinic in Maujpur, about a kilometre away from Babarpur, had tested positive for the disease along with his wife and teenaged daughter.
The scare over quick spread of the virus has further aggravated after 24 people who were among thousands to have attended Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin area in Delhi, tested positive for COVID-19. At least 6 attendees died in Telangana on Tuesday.
With this, the number of cases of coronavirus infected has crossed 100 in Delhi. Police have cordoned off the area where the event was held.
700 people who attended this congregation have been quarantined while around 335 people have been admitted to hospitals, state health minister Satyendar Jain said.
