Ready for debate, first declare your CM candidate: Kejriwal dares BJP
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday challenged BJP to announce its chief ministerial candidate by 1 pm on Wednesday, saying he is ready for a public debate with him. He said if the BJP doesn’t take the challenge, he will meet the press to announce his next course of action.
In an open challenge to the BJP, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday (February 4) asked the party to announce its chief ministerial candidate by 1 pm on Wednesday, saying he is ready for a public debate with the candidate.
The national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party said if the BJP doesn’t take the challenge, he will meet the press to announce his next course of action. “Delhiites want the BJP to declare its chief ministerial candidate and I am ready for a debate with him,” he told reporters.
The party also released its manifesto on Tuesday for the February 8 elections in the national capital, promising quality education, clean water and 24-hour electricity. The manifesto also included a plan to allow markets for 24 hours under a pilot project.

It promises doorstep delivery of ration, free pilgrimage to 10 lakh senior citizens and ₹1 crore compensation to kin of sanitation workers who die on duty. The party said its vision is to make every family prosperous and it will continue to work for full statehood to Delhi.
Kejriwal, who is seeking a third term as the chief minister this elections, has been facing the heat as BJP leaders from across the country have zeroed in in the national capital to help win the party in the assembly elections.
