Police arrest 21, including 2 minors, in Jahangirpuri Hanuman Jayanti violence case
Police have arrested 21 people, including two minors, in connection with the violence in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, in which eight policemen and a civilian were injured.
“Three country-made pistols and five swords have been seized from the arrested men,” the police said, adding that the arrested people have been produced in court.
Among the arrested men is Aslam, who shot at Delhi Police sub-inspector Medalal Meena with a country-made pistol.
The arrested people also include Ansar, who allegedly brought four or five other people and started arguments with procession members near the mosque. The argument escalated and both sides stated pelting stones at each other, according to the FIR.

The clash broke out on Saturday between the two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession. Both sides have accused the other of initiating the violence.
The Muslims have claimed that those participating in the procession carried weapons and tried to vandalise the mosque there.
On the other hand, participants in the procession admitted that they carried arms, but said that the Muslims started the violence by throwing stones at the procession.
Last week, during the Ram Navami celebrations, communal clashes had broken out in many parts of the country, including West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
