Umesh Yadav replaces Bumrah in SA tests starting Oct 2 in Vizag
Pacer Umesh Yadav will replace an injured Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming three-test series against South Africa starting from October 2 in Vizag, BCCI announced on Tuesday (September 24). Bumrah was ruled out of the series due to a minor stress fracture in his lower back.

Bumrah was ruled out of the series due to a minor stress fracture in his lower back. “During routine radiological screening, his (Bumrah) injury was detected. He will now undergo rehabilitation at NCA and will be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team,” the board said.
Bumrah was not part of the Twenty20 series which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Umesh Yadav has played 41 Tests so far and has recorded 119 wickets with an average of 33.47. The bowler played his last test match in Perth during the team’s tour of Australia where he bagged two wickets in the first innings, only to remain wicketless in the second.
The second and third tests of the series will be played in Pune and Ranchi.
