Taking a dig at BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal Pragya Thakur, Congress’ Digvijaya Singh who is fighting the elections from the same constituency said had Pragya ‘cursed’ Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar, there would have been no need for the Balakot surgical strikes, NDTV reported.

Singh was alluding to Pragya’s recent statement that former Anti-Terror Squad chief Hemant Karkare died because of her curse on him.

“Pragya Thakur says she had cursed ATS chief Hemant Karkare, who had made supreme sacrifice for the country and is considered a martyr. There would have been no need of surgical strikes if she had cursed Masood Azhar,” NDTV quoted Digvijaya Singh as saying at a public rally on Sunday (April 28).

An accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts, Pragya at an election rally on April 19 had said, “Hemant Karkare falsely implicated me. He died of his karma. I told him, he will be destroyed. I told him his entire dynasty will be erased.”

Karkare, who had investigated the charges against Thakur in the Malegaon blasts was killed while fighting terrorists in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
