Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said in his party mouthpiece Saamana that other Bollywood celebrities should have come forward and dismissed Kangana Ranaut’s slander against Mumbai.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said in his party mouthpiece Saamana that other Bollywood celebrities should have come forward and dismissed Kangana Ranaut’s slander against Mumbai.
He wrote in his column ‘Rokhthok’ calling the entire episode a ‘conspiracy’ to defame Mumbai.
Taking Akshay Kumar’s name specifically, he questioned why other Bollywood actors who have earned name and fame in Mumbai are silent. “Is Mumbai only for making money?” Raut asked.
Sanjay Raut also compared Bollywood with the Pandavas who maintained silence while Draupadi was disrobed.
His comments came in the backdrop of a battle of words between the Uddhav Thackeray-led government and Kangana Ranaut over the last few days after the actor referred to Mumbai as Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
The actor had also said she feared Mumbai Police more than the “movie mafia” after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The debate began from there, with Sanjay Raut reacting strongly to her comment by saying, “We kindly request her not to come to Mumbai. This is nothing but an insult to Mumbai Police.”
Soon after, Ranaut’s office was also partially demolished in her absence by the BMC over “illegal” construction, which caused the actor to lash out and issue a series of tweets, including warnings to the Maharashtra government and chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
