This Musk post is now second-most liked tweet ever behind Boseman’s

After the Twitter board agreed to sell the social media company to the world’s richest man Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO joked about buying Coca-Cola next.

“Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in,” Musk tweeted on Thursday (April 28). This post garnered a lot of attention from netizens and memes and jokes followed.

Musk had jokingly made the tweet about buying Coca-Cola and putting “cocaine back in”. However, the tweet has now set a new record with over 4.4 million likes till now.

According to reports, Musk’s post on Coca-Cola is now the second-most liked Tweet in the history of Twitter.

Musk’s tweet has surpassed former US President Barack Obama’s post that was in the second position with more than 4.1 million likes.

Obama’s tweet, “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion…” was posted on August 13, 2017.

The most-liked tweet ever is the announcement of the passing away of American actor Chadwick Boseman on August 29, 2020. He died due to colon cancer. The tweet has more than 7.1 million likes.

On August 30, 2020, Twitter confirmed that it was the most-liked tweet ever. “Most liked Tweet ever. A tribute fit for a King. #WakandaForever,” Twitter wrote along with Boseman’s post.

US President Joe Biden’s tweet is the fourth most-liked tweet with over 4 million likes. After assuming office on January 20, 2021, he posted, “It’s a new day in America.”

Another Obama tweet is in the fifth position with 3.7 million-plus likes. He had mourned the loss of American basketball star Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash.

Obama tweeted on January 27, 2020, “Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.”
