After his fiery speech in Lok Sabha on Tuesday (February 4), senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor today launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his personal remarks in parliament over Jammu and Kashmir.

While hitting out at the critics of Jammu and Kashmir special status revocation in Lok Sabha on Thursday (February 6), Modi took a personal dig at Tharoor saying, “Shashi Tharoor ji you have been the son-in-law of Jammu and Kashmir, you should have shown concern”.

Retorting to Modi, Tharoor took to Twitter and said “Don’t know whether to be flattered or amused to hear my name four times in the Prime Minister’s speech. But I was not amused that he continued to tilt at the windmills of history &reduce a solemn Constitutional occasion into an occasion for a petty political speech.”

Raising Kashmir’s continued communication blockade he asked, “As a proud damaad (Son-in-law), I ask when Kashmiris will have normalcy restored, when their detained political leaders will be freed, & when Internet will be fully restored so they can enjoy the rights we all have”.
