Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra home in Mumbai

Amid ongoing investigations in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case of death, Mumbai police revealed on Monday (Aug 3) that the actor was suffering from bipolar disorder, months preceding his death.

Mumbai police said that Sushant had repeatedly googled the name of his manager Disha Salian who died by suicide on June 9, indicating that he may have been worried about speculations connecting Disha’s suicide to him, NDTV reported. He also googled his name several times before his death on June 14, to find out what people were writing about him, police sharing details on his investigation said.

“It has come to surface that he had bipolar disorder, he was undergoing treatment and taking medicines for it. What circumstances led to his death is the subject of our investigation,” Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh told the media. The actor’s browsing history details were found after investigating his mobile phone and laptop, police said.

They said that Sushant searched for terms like “painless death”, “schizophrenia” and “bipolar disorder” on the search engine Google.

Simultaneously, Bihar police had gone to Mumbai on Sunday to conduct investigations based on the complaint given by Sushant’s father alleging that Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty cheated him, siphoned off money from his bank account, mentally harassed him and drove him to suicide. IPS officer from Patna Vinay Tiwari who reached Mumbai on Sunday was forcefully home quarantined, reports said.

Rhea denied these allegations and earlier called for a CBI probe into the case. In a tearful speech in a recent video released Rhea said “Truth will prevail.”

Police said that they were investigating all angles of rivalry, money laundering and health.

The 34-year-old actor known for films like “Kai Po Che!”, “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story”, “Chhichhore”, was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, sending shockwaves in the film industry and opening up debates about nepotism and cliques within Bollywood industry.
