Subramanian Swamy asks BJP to sack party’s IT Cell chief Amit Malviya
BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday asked the party to remove its information and technology (IT) cell head Amit Malviya by Thursday.
Furious over pinpricks by his own party men, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday (September 9) asked the party to remove its information and technology (IT) cell head Amit Malviya by Thursday (September 10).
Swamy had accused the party IT cell of running a campaign against him using fake tweets.
“By tomorrow if Malaviya is not removed from BJP IT cell (which is my five-villages compromise proposal to Nadda), it means the party brass does not want to defend me. Since there is no forum in the party where I can ask for cadre opinion, hence I will have to defend myself,” Swamy tweeted on Wednesday.

The MP said removing Malviya is the “compromise proposal” he has made to party president J.P. Nadda.
Swamy on Monday said Malviya and his men were running a campaign against him using fake tweets, though he did not specify the issue in detail.
“The BJP IT cell has gone rogue. Some of its members are putting out fake ID tweets to make personal attacks on me,” Swamy had tweeted.

Swamy has been critical of his party’s stance on many issues, especially the economy. “Economy has collapsed in the last four to five years. What has happened is that the COVID-19 pandemic has sharpened the decline,” Swamy had said in July.
He has supported student protests against the Modi government’s decision to conduct JEE and NEET amid the pandemic, and has demanded postponing the entrance exams for medical and engineering admissions.

The JEE Main was conducted earlier this month.
On September 8, Swamy reiterated his demand for postponing NEET, due September 13.
“Now that it has been decided that colleges and institutes will re-open only in January 2021, there is no reason not to delay the NEET exams to after Deepavali when the weather will be better and the coronavirus threat lower,” he tweeted.
