In a surprise turn of events, Shatrughan Sinha, the actor-turned-politician thanked PM Narendra Modi for his prompt action over the evacuation of Indians from coronavirus hub Wuhan.
Sinha was BJP’s in-house critic, long before joining Congress last year.
In a series of tweets, he said, “With an attitude of gratitude, I salute you & your people for having done the needful in an emergency situation so soon, as I always say soon, sooner the better.”

The appreciation comes after the Indian government evacuated over 600 people from Wuhan, the Chinese epicentre of coronavirus. Along with Indians, seven Maldivians too were evacuated in the second Air India flight sent by the government.

On the political front, Sinha decided to quit BJP after they decided to field law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad from the Patna Sahib seat.
The Congress minister is in Delhi to Campaign for the upcoming elections.
