Chinese walked into India under Cong's nose: Ladakh MP to Rahul
Rahul Gandhi’s sarcasm-laden swipes at the BJP over the Indo-China dispute at Ladakh has elicited a rebuttal from the saffron party’s MP in Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.
Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday (June 9), in a reply to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s dig at the Congress, had asked if the Chinese had occupied the Indian territory in Ladakh.
“Once RM (Defence Minister) is done commenting on the hand symbol, can he answer: Have the Chinese occupied India territory in Ladakh,” he tweeted.

“Yes, Chinese occupied Indian Territory as under,” Namgyal replied to Rahul through a tweet on Wednesday (June 10), listing out the number of times the Chinese launched incursions into the Indian territory when the Congress was in power. The list goes on as:
• Aksai Chin (37,244 square km) in 1962 during Congress regime.
• Tia Pangnak and Chabji Valley (250m length) in Chumur area till 2008 during UPA time.
• Zorawar Fort in Demjok was destroyed by PLA in 2008 and setup PLA’s Observing Point in 2012 during UPA regime and also created Chinese/new Demjok/Colony with 13 cemented houses.
• India lost Doom Cheley (ancient trade point) between Dungti and Demjok in 2008-2009 during UPA regime.
“I hope Rahul Gandhi and INC India will agree with my reply based on facts and hopefully they won’t try to mislead again,” he tweeted.

Namgyal also pinned a map in the tweet, captioned as an “Overview of Demjok area. Chinese introduced land of India till 2012 during Congress regime.”
Rahul’s salvos, however, continued with his latest tweet criticising the prime minister’s ‘silence’ and ‘vanishing act’ when the Chinese have “walked in and taken our territory in Ladakh.”
Namgyal rose to prominence in 2019 with his speech in Lok Sabha supporting the abrogration of Article 370 and the division of Jammu and Kashmir into two separate Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He also claimed that the Chinese have not been able to launch incursions into India since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014.
