Post the product’s launch, the AYUSH ministry and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that they were not involved or aware of any medical trials carried out by Patanjali. They also mentioned that the company has not disclosed any details of the two-stage clinical trial which they claimed to have conducted.

In a government statement, Patanjali was asked to provide details of the name and composition of medicine being claimed for COVID-19 treatment, and to stop advertising or publicising such claims till the process is completely examined. Patanjali was also asked for details of sites, sample size, hospitals where the research study was conducted, as well as the panel clearances.
