Update: 2020-02-26 12:04 GMT
Mishra has been criticised from several quarters for warning police of dire consequences if roads of northeast Delhi were not cleared

BJP leader Kapil Mishra who has been accused of flaring up the riots with his incendiary statements, on Wednesday (February 26) hit out against those who have been calling him a terrorist and demanding his arrest. He also accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Nehru Vihar corporator Tahir Hussain and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of orchestrating riots in northeast Delhi and for being responsible for the murder of intelligence officer Ankit Sharma.

“Opening the roads are our rights. I have not broken any rules. I have only fulfilled my duty. Only truth and duty will triumph,” he tweeted claiming credit for the police’s clearance of the protest site below Jaffrabad Metro station on Tuesday. Earlier, he had posted a video of a desolate Jaffrabad street, stating that “there won’t be another Shaheen Bagh.”

“Those who have not considered Burhan Wani and Afzal Guru terrorists are branding me as one. Those who demanded the release of Yakum Memon, Omar Khalid and Sharjeel Islam, are demanding the arrest of Kapil Mishra. Jai Shri Ram,” he said in another tweet.

He posted another video in which a group of men are seen hurling something from a terrace. He claimed they were rioters atop Aam Aadmi Party’s Nehru Vihar corporator Tahir Hussain’s house, hurling petrol bombs at people and alleged that they later killed intelligence officer Ankit Sharma.

“See the house of Aam Aadmi Party’s corporator Tahir Hussain’s house. There is a spray of petrol bombs from the rooftop. Later these boys killed IB officer Ankit Sharma and threw the body in a drain. Tahir Hussain must be arrested and his phone must be checked. People say he was constantly in touch with Kejriwal over the phone,” he tweeted.
