India on Friday (September 25) launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, questioning on what grounds it calls for a “peaceful solution” in Kashmir, when it itself has occupied a chunk of the valley, has a history of genocide and is notorious for shielding dreaded terrorists.

First Secretary, India Mission to the United Nations Mijito Vinito, requested the United Nations to exercise India’s Right to Reply after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in a pre-recorded video raised the Kashmir issue at the 75th United Nations General Assembly, calling for a rescinding of the measures “instituted since August 5, 2019”.

India in its reply told the neighbouring nation to vacate areas it has illegally occupied in Kashmir.

“The only dispute left in Kashmir relates to the part of Kashmir that is still under illegal occupation of Pakistan. We call upon Pakistan to vacate all those areas that is in illegal occupation of,” Vinito said.

“Pakistan has always called for a peaceful solution. To this end, India must rescind the measures it has instituted since August 5 in 2019,” the Pakistan prime minister had said in his pre-recorded video which was played at the UNGA.

Vinito had walked out when the record was played and had sought the United Nations for the floor to exercise the Right to Reply to Pakistan’s statements.

This is the third such reply made against Pakistan during the ongoing UNGA meet.

“This is the same country that provides pensions for dreaded and listed terrorists out of state funds. We call upon Pakistan to vacate all those areas that it’s in illegal occupation of,” Vinito said in his reply.

Slamming Khan, Vinito said he is the same person who had eulogised terrorist Osama Bin Laden as a martyr in Pakistan parliament in July.

“This hall heard the incessant rant of someone who had nothing to show for himself, who had no achievements to speak of, and no reasonable suggestion to offer to the world. Instead, we saw lies, misinformation, warmongering, and malice spread through this Assembly. The words used today at this great Assembly by the leader of Pakistan (Imran Khan) demean the very essence of the United Nations,” the Indian delegate said.

He accused Pakistan of sheltering terrorists and killing minorities including Hindus, Christians and Sikhs.

“The same leader who spewed venom today, admitted in 2019 in public in the US that his country still has about 30,000-40,000 terrorists who have been trained by Pakistan and have fought in Afghanistan and in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the country that has systematically cleansed its minorities including Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and others, through the abuse of its blasphemy laws and through forced religious conversions.”
