ICSE, ISC exam results declared, no merit list this year

Council for Indian School Certificate Examination announced the board exam results of Class 10 and 12 on Friday (July 10). The results were made available online on cisce.or and for the students with no access to internet, the results were delivered via SMS.

With a pass percentage of 99.33 for ICSE students and 96.84% for ISC, the number of students clearing the board examinations have gone up this year. Last year the pass percentage was 98.54 for ICSE and 96.52, a slight hike for ISC students.

A total of 2,07,902 candidates appeared for ICSE exams this year and out of which 1,377 failed the examination. Painting an ever worse picture, out of the 88,409 ISC students who took up the exam as many as 2,798 students were unsuccessful.

However, no toppers were declared due to the ongoing COVID situation.”CICSE board not to publish merit list for class 10, 12 exams this year in view of exceptional circumstances,” board secretary Gerry Arathoon said.

This year the students will receive a digitally signed marksheet through an app called DigiLocker. The marksheet will be provided within 48 hours after declaration of results. This method is said to be undertaken so that students would not be required to go to school to collect the marksheet and physical distancing can be maintained.

A total of 14 papers were not conducted as their exams were disrupted due to the COVID outbreak in the country. Though they had scheduled the pending exams between July 1 to 15 initially, the board later cancelled it. Instead they followed a new assessment scheme which included internal assessment and project work marks, to evaluate the students’ performance.

Students unhappy with their marks and want to improve can appear for an optional written exam which will be conducted when the situation is permissible. Students can also apply for revaluation of papers online by paying ₹1000 per paper.
