Former President Pranab Mukherjee tests positive for COVID-19
Former President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday (August 10) said that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
“On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today,” he tweeted. “I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19,” Mukherjee said.

On August 02, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said he had tested positive for coronavirus and had been admitted to a hospital following the advice of doctors. He was the first Indian Cabinet Minister to fall victim to the pandemic.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa had tested positive for COVID-19. Later, Chouhan recovered from the disease.
