Anuradha after Subashri as another woman hit by flagpole in Coimbatore

Hours ahead of the Madras High Court granting bail to the accused in the case relating to the death of Chennai techie Subashri, another woman was severely injured after a pole with an AIADMK flag allegedly fell on her way, resulting in her swerving her two-wheeler thereby losing control of the bike. This resulted in her legs run over by a lorry, in Coimbatore, in Tamil Nadu, on Monday (November 11).

According to the police, Anuradha (30) of Singanallur in the city was travelling to her office on her scooter in the morning. At Avinashi Road, one of many flag poles erected allegedly by an AIADMK functionary on the roadside fell down. Losing control of the vehicle, the woman fell down on the road. A lorry that came behind her, ran over her legs, police sources added.

She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors informed her family members that one of her legs had been fractured and the other had nerve injuries. Meanwhile, the police have booked the lorry driver under several sections of the IPC.

DMK president MK Stalin, in a tweet, condemned the installation of flag poles and alleged that the police had been trying to save the AIADMK functionary.

Two months ago, 23-year-old Subashri died after a banner erected by former AIADMK councillor Jayagopal fell on her in Chennai’s Palliakarani. Jayagopal was arrested 14 days after the incident in Krishnagiri and was granted bail on November 11.
