The Delhi police thwarted a terror plot by arresting two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed activists on Monday (November 16) night.
The two men, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, were arrested from southeast Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan at around 10 pm. Deputy commissioner (special cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said the police received information about the terror plot and they laid a trap near Millennium Park, Sarai Kale Khan, to arrest those behind it. The two suspected terrorists were arrested around 10.15 pm, he said.
Yadav said Abdul Latif Mir (22) is a resident of Doru village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district and Mohd Ashraf Khatana (20) hails from Hat Mulla village of Kupwara district.
Two semi-automatic pistols, along with 10 live cartridges, have been recovered from them, the police said.
