Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain who was admitted to the hospital after reporting high fever and breathing problems, on Tuesday (June 16) has tested negative for coronavirus.

In a tweet, Jain said he has been hospitalised after suffering from high-grade fever and a sudden drop in his oxygen level. He has been admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH), a dedicated COVID-19 facility under the Delhi government.

“Due to high grade fever and a sudden drop of my oxygen levels last night I have been admitted to RGSSH. Will keep everyone updated,” Jain, 55 tweeted.

“I spoke to him (Satyendar Jain) just a few minutes ago and his respiratory rate is stable,” said AAP MLA, Raghav Chadha, this morning.

In a reply to Jain’s tweet, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told Jain that he has been serving the people 24*7 without taking care of himself and wished him a speedy recovery.

Kejriwal went into self-isolation last week after experiencing COVID-like symptoms including fever and sore throat. He later tested negative for the virus.

Delhi, which has recorded 42,000 cases so far has the third-highest number of infections after Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
