JD(S) to go Andhra Pradesh way with padayatras in Karnataka

The ruling Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka plans to hold a statewide padayatra (foot rally) much on the lines of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and his predecessor Chandrababu Naidu. Jagan had embarked on a padayatra for 11 months in 2017-2018 covering a distance of 3,648 kms across 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Thursday (June 27) laid the foundation stone for a ₹1,259 crore seawater desalination plant in neighbouring Kancheepuram district, making it the third such unit that would address the city’s drinking water supply needs. Palaniswami said the government was expediting works on setting up a 400 mld desalination plant at Perur in Kancheepuram district.
