A Railway Police Force (RPF) constable has won many hearts as he had run after a moving Shramik Special train with a rifle on one hand and a milk packet on another to deliver the milk to the mother of a hungry four-month-old baby aboard the train. A CCTV video of him sprinting on a platform at Bhopal railway station has gone viral.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday (June 4) praised Inder Singh Yadav, the RPF constable, on twitter, and said Yadav had “left Usain Bolt behind” with his sprinting skills. Goyal also announced a cash reward for the constable.

“Yadav showed his humanity and courage by running behind a moving vehicle and provided the packet of milk to the lady in the coach,” a statement from the ministry said.

On May 31, when the train from Karnataka approached Bhopal station, Shafiya Hashmi, a passenger, requested Yadav to arrange milk for her daughter. Hashmi told him that she had fed her with biscuits and water.

The RPF constable rushed to a milk booth to get her a packet, even though the train started moving. However, he managed to deliver the milk packet to Hashmi.

“The train was scheduled to halt for 10 minutes only and my running skills helped me a lot in fulfilling this task. But by the time I came back, the train had already started moving and gained speed. Nonetheless, I chased it with all my might and delivered the milk packet to the couple,” Yadav said.
