CISF readies new SOPs for post-COVID checks at airports
Soon after the lockdown ends, new standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be implemented by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at airports and Delhi metro.
The SOPs which are in final stages, will be sent to civil aviation ministry and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) soon, Hindustan Times reports.
What are the news SOPs?
- To start with, the Delhi Metro will see reduction in number of passengers in every coach by at least half.
- The CISF is planning to use the Aarogya Setu app to identify COVID-19 patients entering through security checks. At airports, passengers will be asked to download the Aarogya Setu app before coming to the airport for a colour-coded risk analysis.
- The security force might instruct airlines to distribute hand sanitisers to passengers once they pass the security gates. It is to be noted that CISF doesn’t allow liquids at airport security checks.
- The CISF personnel too have a set of rules to follow. The force will have to sanitise their hands after checking every two or three travellers. They will also be provided with required Personal protective equipment (PPE). X-ray machines and other equipment will be regularly sanitised.
In addition to these, the CISF is stocking up face-masks, gloves, hand sanitisers and PPEs as it prepares for post-lockdown. Over 349 units of CISF across the country are distributing face-masks, sanitisers, dry soaps, dry rations or cooked meals to the underprivileged, HT reported.
