Boycott Qatar Airways trends on Twitter after Prophet Muhammad row
Qatar and several other Islamic nations have protested against India over the BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal’s comments on Prophet Muhammad. The party took action against the duo with Sharma being suspended and Jindal expelled from the BJP.
Countries including Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, Jordan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Maldives, Libya and Indonesia have denounced the remarks made by the BJP leaders, with many of them demanding public apologies.

Due to the issue, several Arab countries boycotted Indian products. Qatar had summoned the Indian ambassador over Sharma’s comments on Prophet Muhammad. And, in a statement, the Indian embassy in Doha dismissed Sharma’s comments as done by “fringe elements”.
After this, there was anger on social media as many Indian users took to Twitter to support Sharma and trended the hashtag #BoycottQatarAirways.
Qatar Airways is the national carrier of Qatar. The Indian Twitterati called for boycotting Qatar Airways over the country taking offence against Sharma’s comments.

Many on Twitter said they would not travel on Qatar Airways. Also, there were others who had never used the airline for their international travel but said they would boycott it in future.
“#BoycottQatarAirways . If they can boycott Indian products, we can boycott them too! #IsupportNupurSharma,” a Twitter user wrote.
Earlier, the Spokesperson of the Embassy of India in Qatar said: “Ambassador had a meeting in the Foreign Office in which concerns were raised with regard to some offensive tweets by individuals in India denigrating the religious personality. Ambassador conveyed that the tweets do not, in any manner, reflect the views of the Government of India. These are the views of fringe elements.”
“In line with our civilisational heritage and strong cultural traditions of unity in diversity, Government of India accords the highest respect to all religions. Strong action has already been taken against those who made the derogatory remarks,” it added.

Irrespective of who’s right and who’s wrong, entire India needs to unite against Arabian countries because this issue is not as big as they are making it.
A strong condemnation of that statement would have been enough but boycotting our goods is too much.#BoycottQatarAirways
