Amit Shah has recovered, to be discharged in a short time: AIIMS

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, admitted in AIIMS for post-COVID care, has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time, said hospital authorities in a statement on Saturday (August 29).

He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on August 18 for post-COVID care.

“Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, is admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi for post-COVID care. He has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time,” the hospital statement said.

The 55-year-old Union minister had on August 2 tweeted that he had tested positive for COVID-19, following which he underwent treatment at Medanta Hospital. He was discharged after he tested negative.

However, days after being discharged from Medanta, Shah again had to be hospitalised. He was admitted to AIIMS on August 18 following complaints of fatigue and body aches, the hospital had said in an earlier statement.
