292 cricketers up for grabs in IPL auction

The IPL 2021 Player Auction will be held in Chennai on Thursday (February 18), with 292 cricketers set to go under the hammer.

More than 1,000 cricketers initially registered for the auction. The final list was made after the eight franchises submitted their shortlists of players.

₹2 crore is the highest reserve price. Two Indians – Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav – and eight overseas players – Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy and Mark Wood – have received the highest billing.

A dozen players are in the list with a base price of ₹1.5 crore.

Hanuma Vihari and Umesh Yadav are the two Indian players in the list of 11 cricketers with a base price of ₹1 crore.

A total of 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players, and three players from Associate Nations will be up for grabs. Prior to the auction date, 139 players had been retained by the eight IPL sides and 57 players had been released.

The auction will start at 3pm and will be broadcast on Star Sports channels. The pre-auction programme will start an hour earlier.

Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades will be conducting the event.

Delhi Capitals: Rs 12.90 crore

Kings XI Punjab: Rs 53.20 crore

Kolkata Knight Riders: Rs 10.75 crore

Mumbai Indians: Rs 15.35 crore

Rajasthan Royals: Rs 34.85 crore

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Rs 35.90 crore

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Rs 10.75 crore
