Exit polls held by India Today-Axis-My India suggests a big win for the Congress-JMM combine. The number released on Friday (December 20) reveals that the Opposition combine will win 38-50 seats in the 81 member Assembly. The polls suggested that the BJP will have to settle between 22-32 seats and be content to sit in the Opposition.

The five-phase poll held in the tribal state concluded on Friday saw a turnout of 70.83%.

Meanwhile, AJSU, which had won 5 seats in the last Assembly polls, had exited the NDA just before the Assembly elections over seat-sharing. However, party chief Sudesh Mahato said he is not closed to do business with the saffron party in the future. The party is tipped to win 3-7 seats.

However, the IANS-CVoter-ABP exit poll has revealed that the state will see a hung assembly with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress-RJD alliance bagging 35 seats while the BJP is expected to get 32. The range for the JMM-led alliance is expected to be somewhere between 31 to 39 seats while the BJP is expected to get 28 to 36 seats.
