At least six people were killed and 11 injured in explosions at a high school in western Kabul on Tuesday. Reports said at least three bombs were detonated in the neighbourhood which has a dominant Shia population.
“The blasts, which occurred in rapid succession, hurt several children and more casualties are feared,” according to Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran and the city’s Emergency Hospital.
Many residents in the neighbourhood belong to the Shia Hazara community, an ethnic minority group, frequently targeted by Sunni terrorists, including the Islamic State.

The explosions occurred near Abdul Rahim Shaheed High School and inside an education center, where exams are taken in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood of Kabul.
No one has immediately claimed responsibility.
The area has been targeted in the past by Afghanistan’s deadly Islamic State affiliate, which reviles Shiite Muslims as heretics.
