Film body bans singer Mika Singh after performance in Karachi

Six days after performing at an event in Karachi, singer Mika Singh was on Wednesday (August 14) banned from singing in India by the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA).

According to reports, the event was said to be that of a close relative of Pervez Musharraf.

In a statement issued by AICWA president Suresh Gupta, revealed that AICWA workers will make sure that no one in India works with Mika Singh and if anyone does, they will face legal consequences in the court of law. AICWA requested Information & Broadcasting Ministry to intervene and initiate legal action against the singer.

The statement further said that Mika had put money above the nation at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan is at its peak because of the removal of Article 370.

On August 8, Mika Singh performed at former Pakistan President’s relatives wedding, for which he has reportedly charged $150,000 (₹1 crore).
