Uttar Pradesh

Samajwadi Party candidate Tej Bahadur Yadav’s nomination for Varanasi was rejected. He said he will go to Supreme Court. “We have been told that we did not produce the evidence that was asked from us before 11 am. Whereas, we had produced the evidence.”

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh (East), offered prayers at a temple in Bahrampur, Raebareli.

Delhi

A Delhi Court issued summons to officials of State EC of UP & Delhi to bring all records of documents related to Sunita Kejriwal (wife of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal) in connection with a complaint filed against her for allegedly possessing two voter IDs. The next hearing is on June 3.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate from East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Atishi, campaigned in Vishwas Nagar area of the constituency.

West Bengal

Election Commission of India: “Neither West Bengal police nor central forces is allowed inside the polling booth (in the room where machines and EVMs are kept at the time of voting). They can enter if and when the presiding officer calls them in.”

Odisha

Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, Surendra Kumar said: “Election Commission of India approves shifting of polled EVMs in two districts — Jagatsinghpur and Gajapati. Entire shifting process will be conducted in presence of candidates and the entire process will be video-graphed.”

Telangana

Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM, on Shiv Sena’s proposal to ban burqa: “Shiv Sena is ignorant, SC judgement on privacy clearly lays down that choice is now a fundamental right. It’s a violation of the MCC, I request EC to take immediate note of it, it’s an attempt to create polarisation.”
