Addressing a large gathering at Latur, Maharashtra on Tuesday (April 9), PM Narendra Modi said if the future witnesses a war, it will be over water. He said the country has to prepare itself for such eventualities while ensuring that the problem of water scarcity is resolved once and for all. “Our government will lay special emphasis on inter-connecting rivers, providing irrigation to each and every farm and facilitating clean water to every household,” he said.

He also urged the first-time voters to dedicate their vote to the welfare of farmers and the poor in the country, by voting for the BJP.

To make a connect with the 45 million first-time voters in the country, the BJP on April 9 released a rap song titled ‘My first to the one, one and only one who’s got everything done’ that was uploaded on Twitter with the #MyFirstVoteForModi.

The video features youngsters who rap along saying that their vote will go to the one who has fulfilled his promises. The rap mentions government schemes like Ayushman Bharat, LPG subsidy, bullet trains and the government’s war on black money among several things.

Reiterating his favourite moniker of ‘dhakosla patra’ (a document of false promises) for Congress’ manifesto, Modi said the promises mentioned in the manifesto will fizzle out as soon as the elections are over. He also accused the Congress of propagating anti-national policies and statements that suit Pakistan more than India.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray shared the stage with PM Modi for the first time after their alliance was announced for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
