JEE Advanced 2020 to be conducted on August 23: Ministry of HRD

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) for admission to IITs across the country will be conducted on August 23, 2020, announced the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) on Thursday (May 7). The Ministry also announced that there will be no fee hike in institutions such as IITs, IIITs, and NITs for the academic year 2020-21.

IIT-JEE Advanced was earlier scheduled to be held on May 17, 2020, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown.

Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union HRD Minister said that JEE-Advanced will now be conducted on August 23.

On Tuesday (May 5), the government had announced that JEE Mains will be conducted between July 18 – July 23. This was revealed by the HRD minister during a webinar with students. The declared schedule suggested that the JEE Mains 2020 will be declared in the second week of August. The online application process for JEE Advanced 2020 will only begin after the final results of JEE Mains, 2020 are declared.

As many as 2.5 lakh students will be qualified to appear for the exam based upon their JEE Main 2020 results.
