WPL 2025 retentions: Full list of retained and released players
UP retained 15 players while the rest of the four franchises – Delhi, Gujarat, Mumbai, and Bengaluru retained 14 players each
The player retention period for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season officially concluded on Thursday (November 7). Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning were some of the big names retained by their respective franchises.
Across the five franchises, 71 players, including 25 overseas stars, have been retained, securing each team’s core lineup for the upcoming season, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a media release.

UP Warriorz retained 15 players while the rest of the four franchises – Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) retained 14 players each.
The WPL 2025 auction will be held next month.

Delhi Capitals (DC)
