Delhi Traffic cop tests positive for COVID-19, shifted to AIIMS
A Delhi Traffic Police who complained of fever last week, has been tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday (April 8).
The Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has been shifted to AIIMS Trauma center for further treatment. The offical’s family has been asked to be home quarantined.
“The coronavirus positive ASI is 49-50 year old. He has been quarantined at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). His family members have been put in isolation at home”, a senior police officer of South-East Delhi told media.
The official who was a resident of Kalkaji, is under strict lockdown now. Delhi Police is yet to trace how did he get infected with with coronavirus.
The toll now stands at nine with the total number of cases reaching 577. Out of the total 576 cases, 20 people have been discharged. According to reports, a total of 3,120 people are lodged in quarantine facilities and around 18,500 people are home quarantined.
