While there is a lot discussed about the signs, symptoms, treatment and clinical trials of vaccines for COVID-19, an equally important but ignored aspect of the pandemic is its psychological impact.

To throw light on this, Dr R Sathianathan, former director, Institute of Mental Health, state-run tertiary mental health facility, government of Tamil Nadu, shares his thoughts on the need to integrate psychological intervention in the treatment protocol.
