Investigating all angles: Crime Branch

Mumbai DCP Crime Branch Datta Nalawade says, “Yesterday, between 9 and 9.30 pm, former state minister Baba Siddique was shot outside his sons’ office, under Nirmal Nagar police station. An offence has been registered and the investigation has been handed over to the Crime Branch.

“There were three people at the spot of incidence. Two have been caught and one is absconding... 15 teams of the Crime Branch are on the job... The angles of Lawrence Bishnoi, Salman Khan or any other angle is being investigated...

“Two accused were detained on the spot... Two pistols and 28 rounds have been recovered... We have the custody of the accused till October 21. Baba Siddique did not have a categorised security but three security personnel were given to him. At the time of the incident, one of our security personnel was there with him… The investigation is being done from every angle.

“We are looking into the records of all accused and we are also in touch with the local police of their native places to see if they had any earlier police records. We are investigating all these angles like when the accused came to Mumbai, where they were lodged, and who harboured them or financed them...”
