An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Doha was delayed, with passengers alleging that they waited inside the plane for almost five hours before being asked to deboard.

A report in NDTV said the flight, scheduled to take off at 3:55 am, was delayed after experiencing "technical issue," causing passengers to be taken to the immigration waiting area at Mumbai airport.

Not even given food, water, say passengers

Around 250 to 300 passengers were left stranded at the airport as a result.

One passenger, flying with his wife and child, told NDTV that they initially couldn't leave the plane as immigration had been completed. Another passenger expressed frustration over the delay and the way the entire episode has been handled by airline authorities, saying that they were not provided with food or water during the long wait.

IndiGo acknowledged the delay and apologised but has not made an official statement.

Frequent flight delays

On Saturday, passengers of a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Darbhanga had a tense confrontation with airline officials after the flight was cancelled just five minutes before boarding. They were set to board flight SG 495.

Some passengers, who are frequent travellers on this route, claimed that flight cancellations have been a recurring issue in recent months. As of now, SpiceJet has not provided an official explanation for the cancellation.
