JK polls: Four independents extend support to National Conference
The NC has the support of six Congress MLAs and four independents, giving it a safe cushion; five members are to be nominated by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha
Four independents elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Thursday extended their support to the National Conference, helping it to further break the majority mark in the 90-member House.

Pyare Lal Sharma, Satish Sharma, Choudhary Mohammed Akram and Rameshwar Singh announced their legislative backing to the National Conference.
The four won from the Inderwal, Chhamb, Surankote and Bani constituencies respectively.
NC has Congress backing
The National Conference has the support of six Congress MLAs as well as four independents, giving it a safe cushion. Five members are to be nominated by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
The National Conference won 42 seats. Its leader Omar Abdullah is expected to be the next chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Bharatiya Janata Party won 29 seats and has secured the support of three other independents.
Omar Abdullah has been unanimously elected the legislative party leader of his party. He will soon stake claim to be the next chief minister.
