Haryana club waiter dragged on car bonnet, staff attacked with swords over food bill

A group of men assaulted a waiter at a nightclub and dragged him on a car bonnet for around 100 metres in Haryana’s Panchkula on Sunday over a food and liquor bill of Rs 23,000.

The incident occurred at Posh Café & Club in Panchkula’s Sector 20 where two men, accompanied by three women, enjoyed their meals and drinks till 4 am. However, they got into an altercation with the nightclub staff when they were handed over a bill of Rs 23,000.

The heated argument soon took an ugly turn when a fight ensued between the two men and the nightclub bouncers. In the meantime, one of the two men contacted a friend, asking for backup. Subsequently, a dozen others arrived on the scene in two cars with sticks and swords and attacked the nightclub staff. The three women were also seen brandishing swords as the two sides were engaged in a brawl.

As the fight escalated, all five, including three women, tried to escape from the scene. However, an 18-year-old waiter identified as Jayant made an effort to stop their car to collect the bill amount but was dragged on a car bonnet for about 100 metres instead.

As per media reports, the entire incident was caught on camera. The waiter sustained serious injuries with fractures in both his hands, apart from an injury to his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula. The matter was soon reported to the police who arrived on the scene and initiated an investigation into the case.
