LIVE | ‘Only Parliament can make laws to allow same-sex marriages, not courts’

CJI: "The committee shall consider the following - include queer couples as family in ration cards, enabling queer couples to nominate for joint bank account, rights flowing from pension, gratuity, etc." 

Justice Ravindra Bhat: "There cannot be an unqualified right to marry which is to be treated as a fundamental right. We agree with the CJI on this."

CJI: "Right to enter into union cannot be restricted on the basis of sexual orientation."
