Defamation case: Rahul to appear in UP court in Sultanpur to record statement
Local BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a defamation case in 2018 against Rahul Gandhi for making alleged objectionable remarks against then-BJP president Amit Shah
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear before the MP-MLA court in Sultanpur, UP, on Friday (July 26) for hearing in a defamation case.
Congress district president Abhishek Singh Rana said on Thursday (July 25) that Rahul, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will land at Lucknow airport at 9 am on Friday and then proceed towards Sultanpur.
Local Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Mishra had filed a defamation case on August 4, 2018 against Rahul Gandhi for making alleged objectionable remarks against the then BJP president and current Home Minister Amit Shah in 2018.
The court granted bail to Rahul in this case on February 20.
Special Magistrate Shubham Verma has summoned Rahul to record his statement on July 26.
